The women of La Femme Défense have made history by becoming the first female footballers to be crowned France’s Female Player of the Year.
The award was announced by president Emmanuel Macron and L’Équipe.
The winner is L’Esquadra de la Femme, who was voted for by a panel of women in the Ligue 1.
She has already been voted for as France’s best player in Ligue 2 and is also the first woman to be awarded the Ballon d’Or for France’s women’s football team.
The trophy was handed out at a ceremony in Paris on Thursday.
